Long one of the locomotives driving Turkey’s exports, the packaging industry is continuing to advance full steam ahead. Turkey’s leading packaging companies, which are bullish about increasing their share in global markets and opening up to new countries, are counting down the days to the 23rd edition of Eurasia Packaging Fair, the premier regional gathering for solutions and investments for food and non-food sectors.
The 2016 edition of the fair attracted 1,114 participating firms and company representatives from 37countries organized by REED TÜYAP Fairs and empowered by the Packaging Manufacturers Association (ASD), which have long been aware of the Turkish packaging sector’s pride of place in the European market due to its quality, speed, cost and logistical position. The 2016 edition was further made possible by the support of the Turkish Packaging Machine Producers Association (AMD), Labeling Manufacturers Association (ESD), Flexible Packaging Manufacturers Association (FASD), Cardboard Packaging Manufacturers Association (KASAD), Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association (MASD), Corrugated Board Manufacturers Association (OMÜD) and Rigid Plastic Packaging Manufacturers Association (SEPA).
The fair, which will bring together all of the packaging sector’s shareholders in a massive 110.000 sqm indoor space, is aiming to attract visitors from 95 countries, including Algeria, Britain, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Libya, Macedonia and Tunisia, for this year’s edition. At the same time, Morocco and Nigeria will be the countries of honor at the 2017 fair as part of the event’s continued overseas activities. In addition to Moroccan and Nigerian sector professionals, the fair is expected to welcome purchasing delegations from the Balkans, Middle East, Africa and the Caucasus. And together with activities for the Interpack Fair, the number of European visitors is also set to rise.
